The Hanging Rock cabin is progressing nicely. We’re almost ready to put the metal roof on, then insulate under the ceiling. In addition to the other 2 cabins, this cabin will provide more places for families and friends to stay surrounding an event at the wedding venue, or just for a short getaway. The beautiful view of Hanging Rock right out the front door will also make this an excellent place to use for a ceremony – stay cool or warm right up until the time to start, and it’s also nice to have close bathrooms for your guests during these events.
Here are some photos from the outside:
Now, on the inside, 3 bedrooms, each with private full bath:
The cabin will also have a large great room with very tall ceilings, and a full kitchen attached, complete with another half bath near the back:
One of the unique features of the cabin will come in the form of an adaptation on the familiar “barn quilt” that you may have seen on many barns throughout the country. In this case, we’ve cut a large window in the typical location for a barn quilt, and my wife has found a wonderful piece of stained glass that will sit in the window. This way, from inside the cabin, you’ll get to see an illuminated barn quilt, with lots of colors shining into the great room, especially during the morning hours:
I’m going to cheat and add a photo from an earlier post showing the view from the front porch, which was the reason for building the cabin in the first place:
We’ll keep you updated!
