OK, so we definitely have some bad ideas sometimes.  The pool was one of these.  We thought people renting cabins would enjoy having this option, but really I don’t think too many people took advantage of it.  Also, the chlorine from the pool repeatedly fried our AC/heating unit in that room (not the whole building, just that room), leading to numerous service calls.  I know the people at Pilot Mechanical very well!  Finally, I think a lot of parents were stressed because they had to keep an eye on young children who may have been going near the pool. 

So, finally, we did away with the pool and put in this sweet new bar!  We salvaged some nearby corrugated metal from an old building for the sides, bought some copper sheeting on line, and then Jimmy Jester and his wife Vanessa (and Harding Hill Construction) watched a bunch of videos online about how to install the copper.  A coat of lacquer, and more than a few pours of epoxy later, we had this beautiful new serving area that we hope will be a very useful addition for future guests.

We had our first wedding with the new bar just a couple of weeks ago, and it was great to see guests standing all the way down the line of the bar in that room.  It was so frequently blocked off before.  It’s great to see guests spreading out into so many different areas in The Venue.  And best of all, the AC has worked in that room for 2 weeks straight!  The epoxy finish is so smooth.  In the photos, it looks like there are lines in it, but it’s actually the corrugated metal ceiling that has always been in the room reflecting off the top it.  It is an amazing finish.

In the future, we hope to eventually install some more beverage equipment so that we can serve drinks very efficiently.  We look forward to serving you and your guests soon.
