A Formal Affair

A Formal Affair

Erica and Patrick had lots of support from their church and family and were able to put together a formal affair for their very beautiful 6:00 wedding.  Intermittent rains came throughout the evening, but the group was warm and dry inside the indoor area and were not affected.  It was a great night with some very talented people, and we thank them for coming.

Luna’s Trail is a wedding and event venue located in Westfield, NC.  We are close to the Triad area, as well as to Pilot Mountain and Mt. Airy, NC.  We try to take advantage of the beautiful rustic environment here by combining the natural atmosphere with first class amenities.  We offer a large venue with climate controlled environments as well as covered patios and open air patios.  The venue features our signature tin ceilings and a beautiful stained glass window which lights up throughout the night.  We also provide separate on-site cabins so that guests from near and far will have ample space to prepare for their big event.  These also provide a setting in which to spend quality time with your closest friends and family during your stay.  For wedding ceremonies, couples can choose among fully outdoor settings, partially covered settings, and fully indoor settings.  The outdoor settings include a variety of views of mountains and lakes as desired.  During the reception, guests can take advantage of climate control, 4 separate restrooms, a large kitchen, an audio visual system, ample parking, dishes, glasses, and silverware.  Also, one of our best features is our dedicated staff who will be helping throughout your entire event.  We can also add on hay rides and shuttle service as needed.  In addition to the many event related features, we also offer fishing, kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, and hiking.  There is also on-site horseback riding available.  We also operate a small farm which includes cattle, chickens, pigs, and llamas.  As a result, we are also able to offer delicious farm fresh eggs and meat as available.

Beautiful day. This group rented out the venue for 2 nights.  Friday night was the rehearsal dinner, during which they enjoyed a nice fire in the firepit and streamed their own music over our house system.  The next day, the ceremony was held out on the patio overlooking the meadow below the venue.  After the…

  • The Winter Hog Pen

As the season winds down for the wedding venue, we continue to get ready for the winter.   Last summer, we had such a good time raising pigs that we have decided to try some more out over the winter.  Given the winter season, we’re going to try to raise them close to the house,…

On a not-so-bright, slightly chilly day in April we gathered dandelions… lots and lots of dandelions. It wasn’t to make wishes with their delicate seed heads. It wasn’t to eat their nutritious greens in our salad or stir-fry. We weren’t making Dandelion Wine. We were making JELLY! We wandered around the blueberry patch with our…
