This week’s group took advantage of a brief rain shower just after the ceremony, which stuck around long enough to cool off the evening and then left in time so that the guests could enjoy the outdoor dance area. There was even a rainbow just over the venue at one point. The guests rented cabins for a couple of nights in order to get a good head start on Saturday’s decorations. They then attended a rehearsal dinner in Mt. Airy on Friday night. The Saturday ceremony was held indoors with a new orientation facing towards the double doors that lead out onto the covered area. The chairs for around 150 set up nicely in this orientation. The party then exited outside to the covered area for some hors d’oeuvres and drinks, while our staff rearranged a portion of the ceremony chairs so that the caterer (Debbie’s Catering out of Stoneville) could then set up the buffet indoors. The tables and chairs were set up for about 170 outside under the covered area. As mentioned above, the back patio was used as the dance area. The pool room was used for pictures and gifts. The cake was under the covered area. They used our house system for music for the ceremony and reception. They roasted marshmallow’s over the fire pit.
