We were happy to celebrate this weekend with neighbors from right down the road. Despite the rain, they managed to put on a very good event and seemed to have a great time. The Friday rehearsal dinner was in the indoor area and was not affected by the Friday rain. The bride and her bridesmaids rented a cabin and stayed on the property that Friday night. They had planned to have their ceremony in a field just beyond the covered bridge below the venue, but they decided to change the ceremony to the covered area given the weather. Luckily, the covered area is enclosed on 3 sides and is open to a view of the meadow below the venue. Using this room, even during the rain, it is still possible to have an outdoor feel to the ceremony, while still keeping the guests dry. After the ceremony, since the temperature was perfect for an outdoor reception, our staff quickly re-arranged the ceremony site with tables and chairs so that the guests could have their reception with an outdoor feel to it. Danny Harrison had a unique set up just outside the covered area for a delicious chicken stew. Blanton Youell from B-Dazzle Productions provided the music and even added a light show against the wall of the barn which was a nice touch. Beccas Pics made a return visit as the photographer, and we were glad to have her back. Artist’s Way Catering delivered one of their always delicious cakes. The rain let up just enough for the fireman in the party to get a fire going in the outdoor pit for smores.
