This group from the Mt. Airy and Winston Salem areas put in a lot of hard work, and, with a crowd of 250 coming, they were up to the task. They came in on Friday to start decorating, held their rehearsal dinner at a nearby Church, then rented 2 cabins here on site for Friday night. They were able to come in early, about 7 AM, on Saturday to begin putting on the finishing touches to the venue, as well as to continue getting themselves ready in the convenience of the nearby cabins. Kim Gurley was in charge of most of the flowers and decorating, while Karleigh Joy King was the wedding planner. The ceremony was out on the back patio overlooking the meadow, which still had a good number of late fall leaves present. After the ceremony, the guests adjourned to the front porch as well as to the indoor dining room where appetizers and drinks were awaiting them. Our staff, and many other helpful participants – thank you, transformed the ceremony site into the reception site, adding 25 tables to the covered patio and outdoor area. If guests preferred, they could also sit at one of the 8 indoor tables available as well. We displayed slide shows of the participants during the first dances. Wanda Dobbins and Susan Bondurant from The Bake Shop in Mt. Airy helped with much of the appetizers and part of the meal, while Pig-N-Out Barbecue brought in the main course. Lotus Creative Studios provided the photography. Joseph Mathis played guitar during the ceremony.
