This week’s group was a true weekender. With a large Colorado contingent, many of them made a long trip out of it, utilizing all 3 cabins and staying Thursday – Tuesday. They also had two large parties on Friday and Saturday night. Good Times BBQ out of Pilot Mountain served a delicious full service buffet on Friday night, and we’re always glad to have them. Friday was a special night for us, as we got to host one of our favorite bluegrass bands, The Hackensaw Boys. They put on a great show and definitely made it a memorable night. We all spent Saturday getting ready for the ceremony, and there was a lot going on. With a beautiful day and some welcome fall temperatures, we gathered firewood for the fire pit and also created a nice, warm seating area in front of the indoor fireplace in the pool room. We were also able to ignite the indoor gas fireplace in the main dining room, so 3 fires blazing in total! Taylored Blooms came and provided some beautiful flowers, as always. We also want to give a special thanks to Artist’s Way Creations for their efforts with the food. It was a very formal appearing, elegant set up in the warm, indoor dining room. Jennifer Robertson from Ego Hour in Winston Salem spent the whole morning doing hair on what seemed like at least 20 people, including children. Dear Darcy Photography helped document the event, and Autumn Leaves Video Productions provided some high energy videos throughout the weekend. The endurance award goes to Tory Mabe, the DJ, who was kind enough to stay late and dug deep into the archives to cater to some special requests from the group. What a night.
