What a hard working group. I’ve never had so many people come up and ask me to help out with things, and I was glad to have it as well with this crowd of over 280. The couple has been together since middle school, and they made a lot of friends along the way, and all of them must have shown up to wish them well. They rented out both cabins for Friday night and rented the venue for Friday and Saturday night. They set up Friday evening for a very nice rehearsal dinner, complete with a grooms cake with golf balls, and they almost got just about all of the decorating done on Friday night to be ready for Saturday. The ceremony on Saturday was held under the covered area, in another attempt to beat the August heat, although there was nice breeze that day, and a good number of welcome clouds. We set up chairs for 270 under the covered area and had room for more since they had favorable weather. This was a first for this chair arrangement, and it seemed to work well, so we we’ll keep this in mind for larger crowds. Another first was the wheel barrow used during the ceremony! They used our sound system throughout the weekend, and we even got to break out the portable microphone and stand to help out with a solo during the ceremony. After the ceremony, with the much appreciated help of many members of the party, we re-arranged the ceremony site into 1/2 of the reception site, with tables and chairs placed around the dance floor. Since they already had about 13 tables set up in the indoor area, we were able to load up over 100 chairs and tote them away from the site in our truck to create more space. The pool room was used for 2 additional dinner tables, as well as a kids table, a table for those who were missed, and sparklers. Lots of dancing on a pleasant night, among many friends for the remainder of the evening. Clean up was a breeze, and we are very appreciative of this very gracious crowd.
