To combat the August heat, this group planned a 6:00 wedding, and things cooled off quickly just after the sun went behind the trees for this crowd of 240 plus. The party actually arrived on Friday and rented cabins to get ahead on preparation for the on-site rehearsal dinner and wedding. John Brown’s Grill provided the food for both nights, and it was a pleasure to see and smell some grilling expertise on display. The group plugged their MAC up to the house sound system for Friday night’s music and enjoyed a climate controlled dinner inside. On Saturday, they finished up decorating and got ready in both cabins for the big event. The ceremony was held out on the exposed patio, with about 2/3 of the large crowd stretching back into the shade of the covered area. After the ceremony, while many guests went inside to enjoy a drink in the air coditioning, our staff, along with the much appreciated help from many wedding guests, re-arranged the ceremony chairs around the remainder of the 30 round 8-top tables that were used to seat the crowd, transforming the ceremony site into the main reception site, complete with a dance floor. The DJ, Moxley Production Services, was able to stay outside and provide sound for the ceremony and reception, while briefly using the house system to provide music to the guests indoors while we re-arranged the tables outside. Impressive cakes from Artist’s Way Creations should also be noted. Also, I learned that the bride was a fan of old shool bottled soft drinks with straws and provided these for guests, complete with some vintage coolers.
