This group came in well prepared with a wedding planner, Starnes and Co., and a lot of experience in the venue since they had visited multiple times prior to their wedding. The bride commented that they felt as if the venue was theirs in a way, and I think that is definitely how we would like people to feel. On Friday night, they catered a nice rehearsal dinner by Oink’n & Cluck’n BBQ out in the covered area, complete with bartending provided by Dale from The Green Heron Ale House. They used our house sound system for music on Friday night. They rented all 3 cabins which enabled them to stay late on Friday night preparing for Saturday. That way, there wasn’t as much hurry on Saturday, and the bride seemed to be very relaxed and happy working on the last few details on Saturday. The ceremony was held indoors in front of the fireplace, with some of our benches used on the front row. The reception was held outside in the covered area as well as out on the patio. Above and Beyond Catering from High Point provided the food, and High Impact Entertainment provided the music for the evening. The guests were having such a good time that the bride and groom elected to cancel the formal sparkler send off so the guests could continue enjoying themselves; however, they did still get into the sparklers a little later for an informal celebration.
