This week we had a Friday night wedding ceremony held at the lake.  They rented the Hanging Rock Cabin for Friday night and used it as a home base from which to prepare for their event during the day.  We set up chairs by the lake and moved the arbor into place for the ceremony.  Crowning Events out of Statesville, NC set up the flowers on the arbor, at the ceremony site, and indoors.  They had an extensive crew for photos and videos, including Nader Aboulhosn who flew his drone all over the property.  Highest Peak Media provided the remainder of the videography, while Waterhouse Studios Photography took the pictures.  The weather was excellent, and the fall tilt of the sun created shadows over the entire ceremony site just prior to the event.  After the ceremony, most of the guests walked back across the dam to the venue, while we provide shuttle service for some.  The guests arrived back in the venue and enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and a slide show while the bridal party took their pictures.  Once the wedding party arrived back at the venue, Artist’s Way Catering provided a wonderful buffet meal and cake, while we cleaned up the wedding site and brought the arbor back to the venue so the guests could enjoy it the rest of the night.  We had our first “flash mob” show up at this event, as the bride’s parents and many of her closest friends joined in on a choreographed dance using one of her favorite songs from the past.  We lit a fire in the fire pit after the initial entertainment, then DJ King Curtiss entertained a full dance floor throughout the rest of the night.
