The Stokes County Arts Festival

Thank you very much to The Stokes County Arts Festival for hosting their fundraing event at Luna’s Trail.  They are trying to raise money for their new arts venue in downtown Danbury, and many volunteers and artists showed up to help the cause.  There was a great turn out, and a whole lot of impressive art.  There was a silent auction set up on the wooden table outside, and they used our PA system for the live auction which was held on the outdoor stage.   Several artist were on hand with their paintings of local scenes, some even present actually painting at the event.  Cheryl St. John and her husband Chuck were flown in from Colorado and stayed at our cabin so folks could enjoy her “plein air” painting style.  Guests enjoyed some impressive craft exhibitions, great music from Andrea Templon and Friends (we got to use our stage!), great food from Jeffrey Adams in Winston-Salem, and beer/wine available as well.  It was a beautiful day.  Most of the event was held under the covered venue with tables and chairs, music and dance floor set up our there.  The interior was used for check in, beer/wine, and food.  Several exhibits such as Raku pottery, basket weaving, and tin photography were on hand on the patio.  Most importantly, many generous donors came and supported their local arts council.
